⚠️ Official Notice of Unauthorized Brand Use

Escents Aromatherapy is aware that a company in Taiwan — operating under the names Yiri (formerly known as Recome), and marketing products under the names "John Ray" and "Cosmescents" — has been:

• Falsely claiming that Escents Aromatherapy has rebranded as "John Ray" or "Cosmescents"
• Using the Escents brand name, logo, and product collections without authorization
• Misleading customers and retail partners about the origin and ownership of Escents products
• Registering the Escents logo as a trademark in Taiwan without our consent
• Exploiting a former distribution agreement to access our suppliers and product formulations

None of this is authorized by Escents Aromatherapy. A formal demand letter has been issued. Legal proceedings are underway.

The Real Escents Story

Escents Aromatherapy was founded in 1992 by Jacqui MacNeill in Richmond, BC, Canada. For over 30 years, we have handcrafted pure, natural aromatherapy products in small batches using the world's finest botanicals — cold-pressed, steam-distilled, and unadulterated.

We have one brand: Escents Aromatherapy. We have never rebranded. We have no parent company called John Ray or Cosmescents. Any claim to the contrary is false.

How to Verify Authentic Escents Products

• ✅ Genuine Escents products are made in Richmond, BC, Canada
• ✅ All products carry the Escents Aromatherapy brand name and logo
• ✅ Our founder is Jacqui MacNeill — the only authorized spokesperson for the brand
• ✅ Authentic products are sold at escentsaromatherapy.com and verified retail partners only
• ❌ We have no authorized retail partners currently operating in Taiwan
• ❌ We have no affiliation with Yiri, Recome, John Ray, or Cosmescents

Unauthorized Parties — For the Record

The following names are being used without authorization by a third party in Taiwan to mislead customers into believing they are purchasing genuine Escents products:

• John Ray — a false rebrand name applied to counterfeit Escents-style products
• Cosmescents — an umbrella brand name used to market unauthorized copies of Escents product collections
• Yiri (formerly Recome) — the company operating these unauthorized activities; previously held a distribution agreement with Escents which has been terminated

If you have encountered any of these names in connection with aromatherapy products claiming to be Escents, please contact us immediately.

What To Do If You've Been Affected

• If you purchased a product believing it was genuine Escents, contact us here — we will do our best to assist you
• If you are a retailer or distributor who was approached by any of the above parties, please contact us so we can document the incident
• If you have evidence of these activities (screenshots, receipts, communications), we encourage you to preserve and share them with us
